Having a process in place to manage sudden short-term absence can take some of the strain away, manage the employee properly and identify the causes of the absences. It will also go a long way to increasing employee engagement and to help them understand what is both required and expected. YOUR HCC EXPERT Stephen Seymour is an experienced HR professional who has worked in the area of employee relations for almost 25 years, including as Head of HR for Jury’s. Over the years he has dealt with employee absence of all kinds and has put in place simple and direct processes that have helped manage absences when they occur as well as minimize the regularity and impact of unauthorized absences.
